CMG introduces the new EV92-160-T: when a production challenge becomes a new solution
8 October 2026
From November 3 to 6, 2026, CMG Granulators will be exhibiting at Ecomondo at Rimini Expo Centre, Hall A1, Booth 301. The focus of CMG’s participation will be on granulate quality and the EV 92-220 granulator from the Evolution Series.
Not all granulate is the same. In plastics recycling, the characteristics of the material produced during granulation can affect downstream processing and the ability to fully valorise recovered resources.
This is the message behind CMG’s presence at Ecomondo: an invitation to assess granulation not only in terms of productivity and process efficiency, but also by looking closely at the quality of the output material.
Why granulate quality matters in plastics recycling
Throughput is a key parameter when selecting a granulator. However, it should be assessed alongside the quality of the granulate: particle size consistency, the presence of dust and fines, and the repeatability of the material characteristics obtained.
A consistent material with a reduced amount of fines can contribute to stable downstream processing and to the quality of the recycled material. For this reason, granulation deserves careful consideration from the early stages of recycling process design.
CMG’s stand message, “Same Plastic. Different Results.”, highlights precisely the role of technology in determining the characteristics of the granulate.
EV 92-220: Granulation for Post-Consumer Plastics Recycling
The technological focus will be on the EV 92-220, a model from the Evolution Series developed for intensive applications and the processing of high material volumes.
According to CMG’s technical specifications, the EV 92-220 offers a throughput capacity of 4,000–6,500 kg/h. The EV92 Series is designed for the recycling of post-consumer plastics, with both wet and dry processing applications.
The tangential cutting configuration and open rotor design are engineered to counteract material carry-over, reducing the formation of dust and fine particles. The aim is to obtain dimensionally consistent granulate suitable for the requirements of subsequent processing stages.

Five Aspects to Consider in the Granulation Process
CMG’s approach connects material characteristics with overall equipment performance:
- Consistent granulate: uniform and controlled particle size.
- Less dust and fines: greater attention to the quality of the output material.
- Energy efficiency: managing energy consumption together with throughput.
- Production continuity: robustness and reliability for intensive applications.
- Simplified maintenance: easy access to facilitate cleaning and maintenance operations.
These aspects are complementary: granulate quality describes the result, while energy consumption, production continuity and maintenance contribute to determining the efficiency with which that result is achieved.
Accessibility and Maintenance to Support Operational Continuity
In the EV92 Series, the fully lifting hopper provides access to the cutting chamber from all four sides. The sectional reversible screen facilitates cleaning and maintenance operations, while the cutting chamber components made of Hardox wear-resistant steel meet the requirements of the most demanding applications.
These solutions complement the cutting technology and help make the activities required to keep the granulator operating efficiently easier and more accessible.
Meet CMG at Ecomondo 2026: Hall A1, Booth 301
Ecomondo will provide an opportunity to meet with the CMG team and discuss the specific requirements of recycling plants, including the materials to be processed, required granulate quality, production capacity and operational management.
We look forward to welcoming you from November 3 to 6, 2026, at Rimini Expo Centre, Hall A1, Booth 301.
